The Hamilton Nationals get back to winning ways beating the Rochester Rattlers.
Martin Cahill the former Rattler scored four goals and Joe Walters and Kevin Crowley tallied a hat trick as Hamilton topped Rochester 17-11 in Boca Raton, FL.
The Nationals started the game with a 4-1 run. Crowley scored twice in the first six minutes. Two of the goals were on powerplays. John Ranagan scored for the Rattlers to end the period, but the team still trailed 4-2.
Rochester got within one with a Kevin Leveille tally 2:38 in. Unfortunately for the Rattlers, that’s as close as they would get. Hamilton scored the next five goals, including a two-pointer by Martin Cahill, and the Nationals led 10-4 at halftime.
Kevin Cunningham netted his only two goals of the game in the third to make the score 13-6.
Rochester scored three of the first four goals of the fourth, but the comeback wasn’t enough. Walters capped off the game with a goal at the 11:20 mark and Hamilton won 17-11.
Brett Queener shut down the rattlers offensively. He saved 25 of the 36 shots he faced. That included seven of the nine shots-on-goal in the second quarter.
