The Ohio Machine go for their first two game win streak against a tough New York Lizards opponent.
This Saturday two teams will be looking to get a win to take the sour taste that this season has left in their mouths. Ohio did have a huge win this past weekend it was only their second of the season but it was a win that helped knock Boston out of the playoff race. New York is still looking for their long overdue fourth win of the season. Both teams have shown that they have some young talent on attack that should make for an exciting game and help them get more wins in 2014.
New York Lizards
Younger Middies and David Earl: The Lizards have shown all season that they have needed midfield help and need a down the field dodger. Earl was an off season trade from Hamilton, he has put up 17 points this season but needs to have a bigger impact. Jo-Jo Marasco had a great game last week and hopefully he can build on that game this week. Also some other rookies Steven Murphy and Jeff Tundo along with Joe Vitale who dressed for the first time last week can get some points and show that they have a bright future with the team.
Michael Skudin: He is a Long Island boy, born and raised in Long Beach and went to Hofstra University. Skudin has been down on close defense all season and can be the face of this unit for years to come. This week he will have the task of guarding Ohio's goal scorer Logan Schuss or assist man Steele Stanwick.
Logan Schuss: Schuss is a Canadian attackman, the Ohio State product is the leading the team in points and goals this season. Logan had a monster of a week vs. Boston having four goals two assists. If he wants to put some pressure on Rob Pannell for rookie of the year award he will have to have another big week to end the season.
Kyle Hartzell: He will have to grab some ground balls off the face and stop the break away. Plus Kyle will have to stop the young Lizards midfield and don't be surprise to see him get some points of his own out there.
The Key to the Game
Both teams have very young attacks each having two rookies and a second year player. Both The Lizards Rob Pannell and Machine's Logan Schuss are two of the top candidates for rookie of the year. Look for both to end the season with a big bang on their way to trying to get there hand on the award.
Both teams will put up points with their young attacks but Rob Pannell will just be too much for Ohio. Look for the Lizards to end the season with a 13 to 10 Victory and get that fourth win that they have been waiting for.
