The Rochester Rattlers and Ohio Machine meet for the second time this MLL season.

Rochester can pick up some ground this weekend against Ohio. The Rattlers are on a two-game winning streak and can move about .500 for the first time this season. More importantly, a victory puts them back in the playoff picture. On the other side, Ohio’s just looking to get on the board. It lost to Charlotte last week to drop to 0-6 on the season.

John Ranagan-This guy tallied a hat trick last week against Boston that helped lift Rochester in that game. It helped take some pressure off the rest of the team in what was the Rattlers best offensive performance of the year. If he can have similar success this week, it will really lift Rochester again. After all, Ohio hasn’t proved it can score a lot of goals yet this season.

Chazz Woodson- If Woodson is back this weekend for the Machine, he could be just lift they need. He hasn’t played since May 23rd and, even when he was in, it wasn’t that impressive. As Woodson goes, so goes the Machine. He needs to be the catalyst.

Get Multiple Players Involved in the Scoring-The more people to get involved in the scoring, the better it is for the Rattlers. Ohio’s had trouble containing teams with multiple threats this season so if Rochester can have five or six different scorers, I like their chances.

Control Time of Possession-If Ohio’s not going to score, it at least needs to keep Rochester from scoring. Eric O’Brien has to win a majority of the faceoffs and keep the ball away from the Rattlers.

Rochester 14-Ohio 9

Rochester’s starting to click and is playing better than it has all season. If Chazz Woodson is back, I like the Machine’s chances a little more to steal a win, but even then we haven’t seen this team be able to put anything together yet. I think Rochester gets back above .500 and into the postseason conversation.
